To all my BOTL's/SOTL's I want to apologize for the length of time it has taken me to get on and explain my situations. My surgery did not go as well as planned and I had two setbacks which placed me in the ER twice and back in surgery for a second time. This has been a very bad run for me and although I have been home for the last couple of days, I have been in a hospital bed and on pain meds...strict bed rest. Last Friday was the first time I was back in the hospital for Xrays and to make sure the implant was seated properly and to establish physical therapy which I will start on Tuesday. My wife helped me out to the Garage yesterday where I sat in the sun for the first time in 3 weeks and I felt human once more. I actually had her get me a cigar and I tried to smoke it but being 3 weeks without and my mouth still a bit sore from all the anesthesia treatments and dryness I held it more than smoked it and was only able to get half of it done. All in all it was just nice feeling a bit normal again. I still feel light headed due to all the blood loss but the docs say i should make that up in a couple weeks or less. Today has really been the first day where my head feels somewhat okay and my eyes don't hurt. This has been a very trying run and my state of mind is needless to say in a very depressed state. I truly could not handle another setback. I have to keep telling myself it could be worst...much worse. And althought this helps a bit, it's still plays on my mind. So far so good as I have not had any bleeding or fever. I think it's downhill from here and with physical therapy, hopefully in 4 more weeks I'll be back in the game of things.
With this being all said, I truly want to thank all of you for your concerns and well wishes. I owe a few of you a more personal note but ask for your patients as my wife has placed all of my stuff in the man-cave down stairs and I cannot get to it at this time. Please give me a week or so with physical therapy and the ability to give proper thank you's and answer your pm's.
Again...Thank you my friends...Thank you all very much. It meant alot not only to me but my family as well.
Tom

tom, sorry the road was longer and more arduous than planned, but you are still walking it, it hasn't stopped you in your tracks, and looks to hopefully be straightening out for you.

you still got your family at your back, and your friends (both present and distant!). stay up, man, you'll get it behind you. o)

I know I'm new around here Tom but I wish you the best and you will be in my prayers. All of your BOTL/SOTL are here standing behind you and supporting you.

You ever need to talk or just vent that's why we are here it isn't because of the cigars it's because we are a brotherhood who stands united and strong for one another.

After all your trials and tribulations you will walk away from this and look back years from now and realize life is tricking but that was only a test and from the looks of it brother you have passed it with flying colours no matter the setbacks you have had.

Again beat wishes and alot of love from my family to yours and god bless. You will be in my prayers brother.

Cheers,
Jonathan

Tom,

It's really good to hear that things are starting to look up for you (or are at least getting better) now. I didn't even realize that you had gone in for surgery or I would have been praying my ass off for you. (I started a new job the first of this month which has put a huge crimp in my BOTL time). I am going to start praying for your recovery and have full confidence that you will be back to your old self in no time.

Get well soon!

Rupe

Sorry to hear that Tom. Hang in there and just concentrate on your physical therapy, that is the best path you now have to get back to your normal life. Thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

Ciggy, I'm sorry to hear of your ordeal. I was away from the board for a while with my own medical issues. As someone who also just went through surgery, I'm glad to hear that you're okay though you still have some stuff to deal with. I wish you the best on your recovery and will keep you in my prayers.

Side note: That first bit of sunlight is amazing, isn't it???
