I think it was neat how they told more than one story around one central theme...that being oil. You had the plight of the foreign workers in that region, the impoverished youth who fell in line with the radical clerics, as well as the young exec who sold his soul so to speak, as well as the whole CIA power thing and who would be the new king. It was very slow, and I had to force myself to sit through it a second time as I just found it painfully dull. Good subject-could have been told a lot better.

Just the opposite for me. There is so much going on in the story, that even if you know the politics of the region you have to watch it a second time to really get it. Certainly is a thinking mans movie, which you hardly see anymore in the midst of all these remakes and mindless action/comedy movies.

It was the first move I watched on the new Sony Wega I bought last week.
I loved the movie and had to watch it the next night as well.
Not as scattered as pulp fiction but still a lot of stuff going on at one time.
