Glare reeks havic on the bands...I think natural light works better then artificial light. I'm still experimenting on that one

Good idea with the Macro function...I think I just need to get my own digital camera instead of borrowing

Different cameras have different distances in which they can focus close up. Ones with bigger lenses and high zoom usually require you to be further for macro.

Sometimes you have to experiment with lighting a bit to get it to look good. If you have a nice bright room and don't use flash, it will prevent glare on the bands (or cello.) I got a filter to help prevent this too, but a lot of point and shoot cameras don't have any way to attach filters.

Looks like its kinda trial and error until you find out what works best. Going to have to play around with some sticks and the camera

Agreed. Macro at 12-18 inches. I use a flash, but take it at a 45 degree angle, so the flash bounces away from the camera. Especially on sticks with cello.
