So I got off work this evening, headed to chow hall, ate dinner, then hurried back to my room to select my evening smoke (my normal routine). I selected a Gran Habano #5 Corojo. This was my first go at this brand so I was anxious. I've only been smoking cigars for a couple months now and I've been working on slowing down to take in all of the flavor. I was determined to do it right. After cutting, toasting, and lighting, I sat back and relaxed. Then seemingly out of nowhere, I start getting bombarded by mosquitoes. My initial thought was "this is the middle of friggin desert, mosquitoes?". They were relentless in taking all of the pleasure from my evening ritual. I was about to give up and call it a night when five unknowing souls walk up to the "smoke pit" and have a seat. It was instant relief since all five were wearing shorts and t-shirts ( I was wearing long pants and long sleeves). I was thinking "fresh meat" and the mosquitoes obviously were as well. They swarmed the five newcomers and left me alone to enjoy the last two thirds of my smoke. I smoked slower and thoroughly enoyed the Gran Habano. I really had to keep from laughing as the five were slapping their bare legs yelling, damn mosquitoes! :usaflag:
