Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone has started to taste a difference in the black tubos now after a little down time? I had one after a box purchase and it seemed somewhat flat, but I had another about 2 weeks ago and it tasted pretty good. Anyone have the same experiences?

I have a box that I just got... damn things are WET!!!! Would not stay lit even after a week at +- 60% !!! had to light it 90 times, and tossed it at about 1/2 way... but damn... I got some good flavors when it stayed lit for about 8 mins!!! Looks like it's gonna be fantastic when it dries enough to stay lit!

I smoked a Black Tubo at a B&M 2-3 weeks ago - burn was fine with only a slight correction needed, which I believe was due to the unusually tight draw. Finished smooth after a second clip halfway through.

I found they have to rest 30+ days out of the tubes. Flavor and burn is better. I've tried them caps on, caps off, and out of tube. The last is the way to go IMO.

I have four reds that have been out of the tubes for about 3 weeks. May try to get a smoke in this w/e. I'll definitely give the blacks another shot with some time to rest.

These will need serious down time.....imho. The components are there for a very good smoke.

that's how I have all of mine right now... Was hoping they'd come around a bit sooner, but mine are def. gonna need more than 30 days... maybe 60-75 before i burn the next... and see how it goes.
I'll most likely pick up another box of these, and one or 2 of the reds... just in case they really come around to be something incredible!!! (which I do not doubt...)

I had one that was ok and another that would burn and split with the draw tool. it had a four inch 10gauge stem in it. I'm wishing i didn;t have the rest of them much like the halloween cigars. For the money each one should be perfect, his best cigars are the ones under $10. I'm really disapointed.

Nothing is ever always perfect at any price, but you can argue that they should be better. Davidoff is the closest I've ever seen because they draw test everything that comes out of their factory.

Mine showed up wet, and I tried one about 6 weeks after opening the tubes and it was quite good. I thing they need more time, not to dry out or settle, just more age, still a long way off from the OR in flavor.

IMO the black tubo are TOTAL CRAP. For a dollar less you can get a Tat Cojonu 09 which is smoking great right now and is light years ahead of the black tubo in the flavor department. One of Pete's best and one of my favorites.

Smoked my first black tubo yesterday, and it was incredible. No issues whatsoever (well, it could have been twice as long - that would have been better:)).

I've only had 1 black tubo so far, it was a little wet and plugged and needed attention the whole time, but I did enjoy it.

I'm a big fan of the cojonu '09 as well, probably my favorite Tat besides the RSW maddie ... and the T110 ... and the ... nope, that's it, and I may even like it better than the T110. I need to smoke more of these. I need to smoke ANYTHING! I've only smoked 6 cigars this year and 3 of them were in one day. Maybe I'm getting a little cranky. Thanks for letting me vent.

Bit off topic, maybe, but would love to hear your thoughts if you light one of those up. Just picked up a couple that I'm about to take out of the tubes to rest. As a big fan of the Havana VI I'm looking forward to these.

I was thinking about having one tonight and was curious how they are coming along with some age. First one I had a while back was just "meh". What say you?

I bought 5 boxes of these and loved them from the get go. I had one a week or two ago and didn't notice much difference. Maybe not as strong as I had remembered...but could have been a bad taster day. Love them!
