Has anybody tried these yet? I haven't found any reviews lately.

When I got a good one of the old series P it was great but a decent amount of them were just ok.

what i dont get is if the series p is made with scraps from the core lines, why do they cost so little? isnt it the same tobacco?

Because it is made from tobacco that would otherwise be thrown away or sold to a company that makes medium/short filler sticks... Plus you can't get as much for a stick if it uses medium filler.

i get that. but doesnt that then mean the quality of the tobacco is second to the quantity of it in a cigar?

No, it's the same quality as is in other sticks. You can't get as much money for a short/medium filler stick so if you're going to sell it to someone you're not going to get much for it. Pete makes the Series P for his customers, he's stated several times they make hardly any money on it.

I wasn't really wowed by the Series P. I'd recommend spending a bit more and getting the Ambos Mundos line. They cost more than the Series P, but are worth it.

Most of the reason is I'm trying to figure out how much 3 years makes a difference with different tobacco and better wrappers (old Series P wrappers couldn't have been any worse). The new wrapper I believe or have heard is similar to the one on the Ambos Mundos Sumatra wrapper, Which I liked.
