Regardless of your take on the quality of the education our kids get, you can't help but think that there are a lot of other people more deserving of being let go of.

I wonder how the CA Teachers Union feels now ... especially following the recent Appellate Court ruling on home schooling.

My youngest came home in tears as one of the few teachers there who does not see the kids as chatel was given notice. Yet they have three Assistant Prinicpals.

I agree, the State does not get it!

The Appleton School Board just voted this week to lay off 36 full time teachers this week. This is going to take effect next year. We have a 4 million dollar shortfall on our budget this year. This is happening all over.

Indeed, indeed. However, judging from the salary data reported by the State, perhaps a little sharing the share in terms of compensation could go a long way.

Is it just me or maybe the goverenment isn't the best source to educate people (sorry I'm a big fan of private institutions, even when it comes to education, but I know it will never happen)
