So yesterday around 5:00pm I got the call that my 18-year old daughter was in a serious auto accident. Info was clipped as my wife was arriving on the scene. I was 3 hours out of town in a hotel room. Within 4 mins I was at the front desk with bags fully packed and I checked out.
As I made my way back home I learned that my daughter appeared to be free of any obvious injuries. It was a one vehicle accident, so nobody else was injured either. Thank The Lord!
As I learned even more during my drive I found out that she hydroplaned while getting into the expressway via an on-ramp. The truck did a 180 and slammed against the tree. The officers on the scene told her that they were amazed that she was not injured and that this could have turned out much worse. I am thankful for the officer who gave her a ticket for going too fast for conditions and told her to slow down because we don't want to see her again and have to load her into the back of an Ambulance.
Thank The Lord that she was safe. Today she was stiff and sore with a sore neck, which I was expecting.
For those of you with children that drive or will be drivers soon, I can tell you that it is a sickening feeling to get the news of an accident. We are quite blessed that she is ok and nobody else was involved. My old Tundra looks sad, but that old girl can be placed. My young lady cannot. Thank The Lord!
Thanks for allowing me to share this recent experience guys.
