Sooooooooooooooooooooooo
To make a short story long;
A little backstory before the reason of my post.

Last year i went to my local shop, as i do, way too often for my bank account, to see what was new, pick up a few and to just generally shoot the breeze. The owners wife hollered for me to step over where she was, the owner was busy. As i approached she introduced me to this lady looking at cigars. She said,"this is one of our regular customers, maybe he can answer your questions Miss."

So the lady explains to me that her son is with the military in Afghanistan and his birthday is coming up. He had told her the only thing he wanted for his birthday was cigars. So she came to the shop to get him a box and she had $100.00 to spend. Since her son is new to cigars and since that's what she had to spend, i talked her out of a box and into a bunch of singles. My thought was why buy a box of something he may not like and the only box in her price range was a box of Onyx. So her and I and a young lady employee went from humidor to humidor picking out cigars. We came right at her budget.

So i then picked out 2 good cigars, 15 count herfadore, a couple of cutters, a punch and im not sure what else, which i put on my tab. The shop owner gladly gave me all those for their cost. We packed all the cigars perfectly in the herfadore then she thanked me and gave me a hug and went on her way.

So today i swung by the shop and the shop owner said "I've got something for you". Im thinking utoh! He said do you remember that lady you helped? I said yup. He said well her son is back home safe and he came into the shop to thank us and he bought you a cigar.

I just want to say to all the men and women serving our country in the Armed Forces, Thank you. And to that young hero who is serving our country, and took the time to think of me while in a war zone, to come home safe, and buy me a cigar, THANK YOU! You will never know how much that meant to me. I smoked that cigar tonight in your honor and to all the men and women serving this, the greatest country in the world.

nice job on both ends - should have thrown in a card for botl - seems like he'd be the type to fit right in around here

Actually, that's something I've thought of doing, getting some business-type cards made up just with the board name on it or something like that just to have to toss in bomb boxes or whatever. Clearly would need approval from the higher-ups, but does anyone have a hookup for that sort of thing?

Thanx for the kind words guys. I didnt do anything more than what you guys and people like you taught me to do.

I was just honored that the people that own the shop think enough of me to ask me to help.

Would love to sit down with him in the lounge and smoke one together but i guess he is shipping out again soon. Luckily he is going to be stateside this time.
