OK boys and girls. The end of another year is nearing. 2009 involved a lot of experimenting. The year is going in my history books as the year I became serious about cigars. So which cigar has made it to the top and bottom of your list ?

So here's

My cigar of the year - Cohiba Edicion Limitada 2006
2nd place - Padron 1926 80th Anniversary
Worst cigar - Padilla Signature 1932 robusto

I've been thinking a lot about this lately. I'll respond only with cigars that were NEW in 2009.

TOP:
Tat Boris (amazing for any age, but given it's youth--I was floored)
Man o War Ruination
Illusione Eperany
Illusione MJ12
Tat T110

BOTTOM:
5 Vegas Relic
the new AF sungrown (I forget the name)

One that I'm letting off the hook at the BOTTOM list is the Tat Drac. It wasn't a bad cigar, but for the price/hype I was very disappointed. I'm sure that in 6 months it will be great, and that in a year I'll be very glad I bought them. But I think most people expect a cigar to be pretty good out of the box. I understand that things didn't work out the way Pete wanted them to with the Drac production, but I do hope that he learns from this and that the FACE is a going to be rolled very soon and that the next year's Monster will be rolled before the year is out (think Camacho Liberty).

Actually the best cigar I smoked in 2009 was at the BOM Herf this past summer. Didn't matter which one, just the time with brothers made any cigar I smoked awesome.

My best of the year is a toss up between the Padron 45th and a 1980's Dunhill Mojito.

Worst of the year: A Fuente King B which absolutely sucked.

Best: The one that comes to mind first is:

The second best would be a Masterblends 2 that I smoked while on the beach of Half Moon Kay in the bahamas while on our cruise in May.

The worst would be a tie due to horrible plugs: Avo LE07 & a Trinidad Ingenios.

I've been very fortunate to smoke many, many outstanding sticks this year with great friends, family and in great settings and surroundings. I look forward to 2010, but 09' ain't over yet!

Best - Bolivar I think it was the Corona Extra
2nd - H. Upmann Sir Winston
Worst - Cohiba Siglo VI - Plugged and flavor was anemic, kept smoking hoping
it would open up but alas, it never did. Will revisit.

Honorable mention... Tat Black CG, Opus X-not sure what size still the only
one of these I have smoked, Monte #2 and Padron 45

Ok, this is a good thread but you could really have alot of choices. Just thinking about what I've had in the last six months is difficult! However at this moment I have to say..

Best: Padron 1926 80th Anniversary (Hands Down)
Runner up: Tatuaje Boris / Masterblends 2
Sucked: Padilla Series 68 / Nubs

:peace:
