so... just got back from the worst week of camping ive ever had. first off the campground was not what i expected. not enough trees for this redneck. second, the lakeside site that i supposedly had reserved is actually about 300ft from the lake, with so much brush imbetween you couldnt see the lake anyway.

after setting up the site and sweating my ass off in the 97 degree heat and 90% humidity, i realize i have no beer in the camper. its now 9:10 pm and no stores sell beer after 9. I decide to build a small fire and smoke a cigar. that was the only highlite of the day. but wait it gets better......

the next few days went fairly well. weather was pleasant and i stocked up on a couple cases of beer. one afternoon im sitting under the awning of the camper reading a book, smoking a PSD4, and enjoying a frosty brew. the sky started getting darker and the wind started to pick up. before i could pick my butt off of my chair, the awning caught the wind like a big parachute and ripped right off of the camper. (weather reports would later claim 66 mph wind gusts) it also twisted and buckled the support arms so i couldnt lower them. i had to wait till the morning to find a camper dealership to get someone to come to the campsite and fix the awning so i could drive the damn thing home.

(sigh) all in the name of relaxation.... i think i would have been better off at work..... :crytears:
