When I thought I had a few things under control and I was able to handle what was coming . . . heartbreak takes over. .
Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s, our first holidays without Babe was miserable but my adult kids and drunk friends help me out. But here comes my first b’day and our first wedding anniversary, without my Babe. . Even just thinking or trying not to, I feel my heart break.
Babe and I were not a normal couple. We never celebrated Feb 14 or any type of anniversary. To be frank, we didn’t even remember when our relationship started. All we knew was we’re together. The only date we knew was the day we all moved in together. When we started making plans for our wedding, we were actually looking forward to our 1st anniversary.
I told my kids not to celebrate or to make any plans for my b’day. It will be another day. But, I did make plans to drink with Babe.
We got married on 2/24, four days after my b’day. Our birthdays and wedding anniversary will always be linked together. Babe asked me to marry him on his b’day. His Dad passed away a day before my birthday and Babe passed away a day before my son’s birthday. Babe knew was he was doing. He wanted our family to be linked forever.
I hope y’all cherish your loved ones. Tell them you love them. We don’t know how much time we have left. A heartbreak is horrible but there’s a reason why I’m going through it.
