Well in the auction description he states it's his last box. $350 is pretty greedy but that's the way it is when things are so limited.

He shill bid the box before this one upto $330 (the opening bid was $250), then sent me a last chance offer to buy it at $325. When I called him on it he said I was out of line accusing him of that.

Maybe this is Ambassador Fine cigars out of Scottsdale AZ. This was the only retailer in AZ that got the Frank.
I don't care who it is, they may be worth $350 a box to some one, just not me.

I don't mind paying top dollar for things that are hard to find items, but he shill bid the last one way up. I was the only bidder at $250, then the same person bid 7 times in 3 mins upto $330 (less than a few hours before the end of the auction) just five dollars over the buy it now price. Then he sends me a second chance off to buy a box (at $325 my highest bid on the other box) he said he just realized he had a second box ,one problem was, it had the same number as the one that I had just lost out on. If he had found a second box, it should have had a different number on it. Any one want to bet he will list a box of Franks with the #639, that is the numbered box that I lost the bidding on.

Wished I jumped on the Frank bandwagon. I've only smoked 1....should have bought at least two boxes when they came out. As good as they are though, I couldn't pay that price for 13 sticks.

Next year....I'm all over the Drac though!!!

Is the frank that much of a great cigar?... i plan on smokin a black tonight ill see how that is...
the cigars is simply demand driven. Few have it so a lot want it. Fuente does it all the time. They release these4 cigars in limited quanties to drive the prices up.

With my own personal experience (somewhat limited), I prefer the Frank over the Black.

I've not had any of the Franks yet. Traded for a few of them several weeks ago, and I'm probably going to let them wait until warmer weather to give one a try.

I dont see the hang up over the price, NC RyJ have lots of cigars they MSRP for well over $25, same for Gurka, Fuente, etc., etc. etc.

I also doubt any of us would have even blinked if Pete MSRPed the Frank at over $20 either, it's a large well made and delightful cigar. The Black was a $13 cigar and the Frank is a better cigar IMNSHO and a two hour smoke to boot, much better than many of the other cigars we've paid top dollar for. To all of us that support our local shops and are lucky enough to have the shops support us back, we got lucky, after they are sold out,it's a sellers market. If you want the cool 68 Camero, you pay what the seller wants. And, even though it's fun to call the scalpers wankers and such, if not for them many of the great cigars I've had I would have never gotten to try.

I strongly disagree with this statement. The Frank is one of if not the best cigars to come out in 2008. The cigar was made to be limited edition and come out once a year. Yes he could probably make an inferiro cigar and pump them out by the truck load but in this case as with his Blacks and the Brown label he chose quality over quantity. Lucky us. A man who will not put out an inferior cigar just to make an extra buck.

The Fuentes have a similar philosophy, quality cigars, limited quantity. If you are telling me a mass produced CAO is equal in quality to a limited Opus or Viejo, or Anejo, I would have to disagree. Quality of leaf, the number of expert rollers will always limit the number of true quality cigars. Just try a 2000 Punch Double Corona and you will see what happens when volume exceeds ability.
