Here is a close up shot of the band from my thread in the storage area of the forum.

If you look at the back of the band the black is overprinted by exactly the amount of the 4th row of dots.

Box code is ALT OCT 13

No reason to doubt the authenticity of the stick, tasted like a Cohiba, etc, but the misprinted band threw me off. There also seems to be a slight variance in spacing of the dots from the top of the wrapper from sticks from the same box (all other boxes of Cohibas I have ever seen). So how do they manage this? If not for the misprinted dots below the gold line I would wonder if bad stick got mixed in... But the misprint makes me think it's just a printing error. The embossing is also off by the same amount of the misprint, although it's damn near impossible to see in a picture.

So has anyone seen this before? Bad stick or Cuba being Cuba?

I'd call em fakes. I've never seen a Cohiba band printed like that. I've seen them mis-cut slightly, and I've seen embossing slightly off, stuff that can happen when they're sloppy printing it, but never seen the "Cohiba" cut through the bottom squares like that. That indicates that it was not a printing error but a design error which is a whole different thing.

Did you get them from a trusted vendor, or a friend, or buy them in person somewhere?

EDIT: Just noticed the wavy line on the back, that should be straight. Also, the photo is blurry so it could be that, but the printing of the gold looks really sloppy on the bottom. Can you post pics of the box and the other sticks from it? I'm interested to see what they look like.

Unfortunately don't have box for that one, was purchased from friend but originated from Swiss/HK vendor.

Pictures next to another siglo v and a Coro band (both from London LCDH)

That's a burn mark on the CORO wrapper from removing it.

The sloppy area of the lower gold band is black squares.

I don't have any reason to doubt the stick, it tasted like any other I have had, but now I have more questions than answers.

Ok, with clearer photos, it does look like Cuba being Cuba. Looks like it was just a matter of when they printed gold over the rest it was misaligned, just a bit high. Everything else looks normal.
