I've been looking for cheap cars for my son, but cheap means junk and I already have that. (his 2001 mazda tribute that keeps breaking down to the tune of 8-900 a pop)

Called the credit union car buying service (Allegacy). They bird dogged a 1/2 way decent car (1 owner 04 Chevy Aveo Hatch back witha clean carfax) with 85k miles in great shape at one of their dealers. They got another 600 off the already low price compared to others I saw online, gave me a 2.9 loan rate, a fair price on a good 36k warranty and are delivering it to our house.

I hate buying cars but this was so easy!

Think I'll have a smoke on it, lol!

Good experience, but wrong vehicle IMO. Worst case, you get it and he hates it and you sell it.

Car will be here at 4. He knows it's small. As to the car itself, trust me, it's all I could afford with under 100k miles on it. I would rather have gotten a honda but those were far too expensive or got a lot worse gas mileage.

Car got here about 4. Delivery guy unloaded it from the trailor, loaded the Tribute up. We signed the papers on the kitchen table and he was off.

I was very pleased and surprised with the leg and head room. No problems at all for my son or myself. Not the fastest car on the planet but it will get him were he needs to go.

If you have Allegacy as a credit union and need a car, it's the only way to buy!

That sounds like a real painless deal. If all their transactions go like that I'm sure they'll become very popular. Been toying with an idea for a while of getting an older Ford Fiesta or Chevy Aveo as an alternative transport vehicle and kind of a project car. Wanting to do the General Lee paint scheme on it .
