Friends and brothers,
Simple laproscopic surgery to remove gallstones has turned into a potential nightmare. Day after surgery and not feeling well resulted in precautionary visit to ICU. Now she's been in emergency surgery for goin on two hours. Scared to death. If you have sec, even a thought would mean a lot.
Thanks..
The good news is that they got the internal bleeding to stop. The bad news is that there are 4 clots rapidly forming. The are going to do a consult with some other docs and more than likely, insert a screen of some sort to block clots from heart and lungs. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. From the other posts, it looks like it was a rough day for a lot of people. Best wishes to all and thanks, again!
Mom had a good night, breathing tube is out and she is responding well considering. The key is the right amount intervention(s) given that she just had surgery and is on blood thinners for clotting problems. Miracle drug but the collateral consequences if shit happens can be devastating. Thank god this happened while she was still at the hospital.
I know this is going to sound weird. When families are in need you connect. There was a large family with a young son having cancer surgery (Darrel) and another guy whose whole body is shutting down and has been in ICU for 13 weeks, after being life-flighted from Toledo, to U of M, to the Cleveland Clinic. My heart goes out to these ppl, their circumstances are much more dire. PLEASE keep them in your prayers along with all the other requests on here. I became acutely aware of just how much we need each other in this life, even if it's just an ear or a "bless you" when you sneeze, to showing you how to use a hospital phone in a closed waiting room. The people I met last night were so kind, open, and willing to help, despite their baggage being profoundly heavier than mine. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers, reading, and continued support.
With gratitude, Jack
