I know there was one a while back, I believe about the ones at Best Buy, and whether or not one preferred to stop and allow them to check their receipt and bags or not...I cannot for the life of me find that thread...Any help?

No clue, but man I always hate to be checked like that. Why even have cameras at all?

I basically walk past these bozos and tell them 'No thanks". As I did not sign a membership contract (Costco, Sam's Club) with them that gives permission to do a basic receipt check on exiting the store, they cannot stop me. I've not had any problems doing this in two years.

My favorite thing to do. Let them chase me into the parking lot. I paid my money. I'm not standing in another damn line.

If there is someone getting their cart checked, I walk by. If there is noone there, I walk towards them and make eye contact. If they raise the hi-lighter, I stop.

They don't even check what you have in the cart compared to the receipt.

They have missed items that the cashiers missed before...not on my personal orders but a family member's.

I've heard of that too, Todd...
This one guy I knew bought two DVDs -- one $1 DVD and one $20 DVD. The DVDs were on top of each other on the checkout aisle, and the $1 one was under the expensive one. The checker only thought there was one DVD(scanned them together, with the cheap one ringing up), and this guy I knew didn't really realize it till he got home. The receipt checker looked in his bag, there were two things, checked the receipt, there was one thing (for a dollar!), and said have a good day!

Yep. The person(s) I know that got a free item didn't realize it until they were driving home as well.

Speaking of free items, I was in Lowes and needed a new tool pouch. So, I pick one out and grab a belt to go along with it. I put the belt in the tool pouch, she only rang up the belt. She must've thought it came together :dunno: :king: I thought the total was a little low, but I wasn't gonna argue.

I guess Lowe's doesn't carry it anymore, but it looks like this: http://www.awpgear.com/products/1LL-683.jpg

Oh, and has anyone been hearing more stories about people being arrested or detained for not showing their receipt? It could get crazy...
