I work out of my house and at 1PM it was like the Viet Nam war started again. The chopper were going over the house every two minutes at low altitude. Then I heard the bombers. They were definitely doing runs and fairly close. Finally I went out to look and the mountains behind our house are on fire. We are in no danger but it was incredible to watch the slurry bombers work with the spotters. The choppers were the work horses. Apparently they completely drained the community pool just south of our house. Wild

That sounds intense. It's one of those things I kind of wish I could see, but when I stop to think about it, I'm glad I'm far away.

Glad to hear you're safe!

Wild fire crews in the sky. We've had a few years in a row with them not far from our house. The smaller airport I can see from my deck is the one they park all the C130's and choppers at for northern CO. This photo was taken from my deck last year if I remember correctly

PS stay safe CWS

One of the little bombers. the bug suckers made the house shake when they went over. The two helos would fill up at the community pools a few blocks south of the house then fly over the house to the fire. Every 4 minutes.

Glad to hear you're safe. My family had to evacuate from our neighborhood in Austin a few years ago due to fire. House was fine. But there were over a dozen houses that disappeared. Scary stuff.
