Hypothetical situation:

I have a friend who is in Dubai at the moment and sent me an email asking if there were any cigars I wanted him to pick up for me while he was there. Anything I should have him be on the lookout for? I can get my hands on most of the usual stuff so I guess I would be looking things that aren't easily available at most vendors. Are any of the UAE RE's any good? Any recent production HTF's I should try if I get the chance?

Bolivar Emiratos (if they are available yet)

Do not get the Punch Emiratos. They are total dog rockets.

You might be able to find some RA Phoenicios, but unlikely in Dubai (for sure in Lebanon).

REALLY?!!? I'm surprised... Love that smoke. Did you have a bad stick perhaps? I bought 2 boxes after smoking one and am sad that I didn't buy more.

Dubai Duty Free (I'm assuming that's where he's buying from, as the prices in the city are atrocious) usually has good prices and is slowly becoming a benchmark for cuban prices. And the good thing is that for the non-run-of-the-mill stuff, they usually have older boxes that have been maintained well. So you may wanna check prices and compare to your current vendor for good deals.

For non-regular-production, they have the Partagas P1 in Jars... I believe for $400 or so.... Been eyeing that for a while but can't bring myself to pull the trigger...

Either case, good luck...

The Bolivar Emirates were starting to ship during the festival. I saw the first 50 boxes getting packed into a master carton while I was at the La Corona factory. I have smoked 1 and shared a few and they seemed to be quite good.
