How do I increase my time out option? I keep timing out about every five minutes.
O.K. I'll give it a shot the next time I log in. Thanks. Its the remember me box when signing in...
I use Windows XP and I have cookies enabled for this site. If I don't do anything on here for 5 minutes or so, when I come back, I have to re-login. It's no big deal, just a minor inconvenience.Even with the remember me, you should not time out in 5 minutes, that's can't be the cause.
Have you changed something with your browser settings?
Have you installed any new softare that might "clean" cookies or other things?
What browser / version / OS are you using?
Maybe someone's sending you a hint? :grin:How do I increase my time out option? I keep timing out about every five minutes.
I think it might have to do with the "Live" add-on to the vB software...actually Eric may have mentioned this before...let me look around.Well, Rememebr me will fix it, but thats a cheat.
Normally your cookie should last (generally 20 minutes) or more depending on the server and how long the cookies are set to expire.
The other object is browser sessions, meaning as long as your browser is open, the cookie should be fine.
Thats why I am led to believe there is something else interfereing on your system.
:eyebrow: Any time is a good time to fire up~!Lots of insight from you guys about this glitch. Need to experiment. Sounds like a good time to fire up. I'll let you know how it turns out.

The use of cookies on this forum is optional, but may enhance your experience of the site. Cookies are used to enable functions such as showing whether or not a thread or forum you are viewing has new posts since your last visit, or to automatically log you back in when you return to the site after being away for a while. When you register, you will be given the option to 'Automatically login when you return to the site'. This will store your username and password in a cookie, stored on your computer. If you are using a shared computer, such as in a library, school or internet cafe, or if you have reason to not trust any other users that might use this computer, we do not recommend that you enable this. This forum also gives you the option to use a cookie to track your current session, ensuring that you remain logged-on while browsing the site. If you choose not to store this information in a cookie, the session data will be sent through each link you click. Choosing not to use a cookie may cause problems if your computer's connection to the Internet uses a proxy-server and you share links with other users behind the same proxy. If in doubt, we recommend that you select 'yes' to enable the cookie. After you have registered, you may alter your cookie options at any time by changing the settings on this page.
