One of the few CdPs I 've had ... but it certainly won't be my last!

Popped and pour for Valentine's dinner @ Crimson. Nice translucent ruby color with bricking at the edges. Complex aromas of sweet red fruits, chocolate dust, cedar and roses. Outstanding flavors that were smooth, creamy and well balanced. The fruit flavors were both sweet as well as tart, accompanied by smooth acidity and tannins that all flowed nicely into a lingering finish. There was just a touch of heat, but this was gone by the end of the first glass. Subsequent refills found the aromas and flavors blossoming - and by the end of the meal (braised duck breast, thyme potatoes and glazed french beans/carrots) I found myself wishing I had bought a case of this wine rather than a single bottle. If nothing else I'll be seeking out more CdP to explore - especially 1990. Definitely the best wine I've had since the 1980 Inglenook Cab that I had for my 50th birthday.
