Bought this at the local Whole Foods store last night as it was on sale ($21) ... and also as this is another fine local wine makers who's wine I haven't had yet.

I opened and let sit in the decanter for 15 mins before pouring myself a glass. The color was garnet with some purple tinges and it was slightly translucent. The aromas were very nice ... black cherry + blackberry jam, brown sugar, cedar and some mild spice. The initial taste was of good dark fruit, some creamy vanilla and then some mild pepper / spices. There was a small amount of heat on the end (15.5% alcohol) and the finish was moderate to long. A moderate amount of tannins are present so this could age nicely for a few years. Overall a very nice Syrah

This does sound nice. I am heading to the Mirasou Winery tomorrow and picking up a few bottles of California Pinot Noir.

Wines... one of the great remaining reasons to live here in Cali. Although Washington and Oregon are not bad locales for a Wine Tasting trip.
