The project was so secret that only five people in the entire company knew its code name. For more than four years, a small team huddled in the Dunkin' Donuts research lab trying to crack the code for a doughnut without trans fats that tasted just like those on which the chain had built its reputation over the last half century.

To hell with that. Nobody thinks doughnuts are exactly healthy anyway. I personally don't listen to any health warnings, everything in moderation as they say, and I'm not fat. A doughnut (or cigar or beer or cheeseburger) once in a while won't kill you. Hell, I even drink whole milk! The horror! Can you name even one "healthy" food or drink item that's not inferior to its normal version?

Also, a slight tangent: Dunkin' Donuts coffee SUX!

I don't care for extremely sweet stuff, so if given the choice I'll pick the no sugar added versions of ice cream, european chocolate, etc.

The worst "healthier" product version is Reduced Fat Pecan Sandies. They taste like molded sawdust. My wife bought them for me a couple of times. I put a quick end to that! heh

Reduced fat sour cream and cream cheese are disgusting too.

Psh! BRING ON THE TRANS FAT!

Seeing as I don't consume massive amounts of doughnuts, I agree with Clint on this one. Everything in moderation. However I do have to protest that DD's coffee is quite tasty. Better than Charchunks anyway....

No way! The simple reason that DD is so popular is because there's one every block. It's just very convenient. Starbucks tends to be over-roasted but it's way better than DD.

Ugh...around here there's more Charchunks than there are DD's. The fact that Starbucks is over-roasted IS why they're worse than DD. I have to put about 8 packets of Splenda in Starbucks coffee for it to taste halfway decent, where as with DD, 1 will do the trick. Starbucks is only popular out here (in my opinion) because it's the 'posh' coffee. [sarcasm]If you don't drink Starbucks, you must be some kind of backwater hillbilly! [/sarcasm]
