To all who have gone on cruises and or to another country to acquire cigars. Have you had any troubles getting them home. I dont live to far from the great white north, I am thinking of maybe taking a 2 day trip up there with some friends to visit and party, in the near future. There is also talk about a family vacation to an undetermined destination, but definately out of country, by November or December.

If this is not something that can be discussed I apologize to the mods, and ask for it to be removed.

I thank you guys for all your help. :smokingme

I would imagine it also depends on picking up boxes or single sticks! If its a few and you don't mind the risk of confiscation no big deal. If boxes, then just order on line and don't worry about bringing them back.

It's cheaper online anyway. If you're taking your car to Canada then I would act like a regular family on the way back. May'be don't smoke a cigar on the way back so you'd look squeeky clean.

When I lived in Seattle I would go to Canada about once a month. I was never searched in the 12 years I did that most likely because I would have a mini van full of kids.

Now if I go out of country I bring my cigars with me. I can get them a lot cheaper and I am assured of their quality before I leave.

I was thinking boxes, but am now leaning towards singles. The box is going to be a hell of time to try and hide. I have quite a few bands that I can use to cover the one on the cigar.

It would be funny to see a mexican, and irish guy, and a philipino act like a normal family. :waving: :hysterica

May just have to order online for the boxes then. I was hoping for it to be the other way around on prices, but what can you do. :nodlaugh:

Not worth the hassle. Especially the great white north where prices are outrageous. There are easier methods as mentioned in above posts.

Everyone is correct....online is cheaper and safer. I did however bring back a box of Cohiba Robustos and a box of MC#2's when I went to Europe and before I knew better. When asked by customs if we had any liquor or tobacco, I said we had liquor but no tobacco. Took my chances and lucked out! Didn't get searched.

I was going to make a similar trip to you BV...I am about an hour away from LCDH in Windsor. But with the prices being twice what they are elsewhere, and the risk...it's just not worth it. Now crossing the border for leisure reasons and buying a nice single to smoke while I'm there is a different story.

I went to Europe this summer and on the return trip home my carry-on was filled with wine, absinthe, and cuban cigars. My whole family got taken out of the normal security line at US customs and went to the special x-ray machine that's huge and put our bags through it. I also stuffed some cubans in my 9-year-old brother's carry-on, under like his game boy and books. I was a little bit worried about having so much alcohol in my carry-on because I was only 18. Went through both the London airport and Chicago airport with no problem, though they made my little brother throw away his ham sandwich in customs.:hysterica

I don't think the security is as strict on the cruise. I think you can put whatever you want in your checked baggage if you go on a trip to the caribbean or something, at least that was the impression I got from my grandparents who went on a ton of cruises these past few years. But anyway, if you are hitting canada the prices probably wont be worth it anyway because of their taxes.
