In a world where poor customer service sometimes seems like the norm, I thought I would share this.

We have been running a warm mist humidifier in our basement since the spring of 05 due to the dryness of baseboard heat in the basement. It is made by Kaz and is the vicks model.

A couple of weeks ago I was filling the tank and I dropped it on the kitchen floor. The plastic tank cracked and I spent the next 20 minutes cleaning up a gallon of water!

Anyway, I called Kaz, Inc to inquire about purchasing a replacement tank. They said they don't stock the tank and asked me when I bought it. They then went on to tell me that it was covered under the 3 year unconditional warranty...even though the accident was my fault. After explaining to them that there was no chance in hell that I could hunt down the receipt, I was told to send the broken tank in and a complete replacement unit would be sent to me. Not just the tank, but a whole new unit.

Fast forward 10 days and there sitting on my doorstep upon returning from work was a brand new humidifier.

Only a handful of companies have captured my loyalty in my short 37 years of life...and Kaz is one of them. You can bet your life that the next time I am in the market for a humidifier for whatever reason, that I will be checking out the section that contains the Kaz models.

 for great customer service!

That's the way to keep a customer!

And I thought I was the only one left not concerned with buying the lowest priced item. CS means a lot!

Ya know, not many companies left like this...I know I'll think of them if I'm ever in need...Nice note, too. Often you only see the bad stuff posted...You're a class dude for mentioning this!

Such a rarity these days... there are quite a few companies I will not deal with after having to deal with their terrible CS ran through India.

It really is all about customer service. I'm glad that these guys seem to have it down! I'd much rather spend more money with a company like that, then getting a better deal with someone who's going to treat me like crap.

I am in a business that relies on repeat and referal business.

I have found that if you go above the customers expectations they will tell 4 or 5 people. If you fail to meet them, they will tell 8 to 10.

Far too often we dont go out of our way to tell a story with a good ending but will spread a bad story like wildfire.

Thanks Dave:thumbsup:

Same here!
One example of how I showed a potential Client was he was "price" shopping for his security system.
I did a thourgh job desiging a system for him. He was having a competator out the next day. I told him my price was the same no matter when de dicided to buy, but could save him a bit of $ if he let me call him the next day when the other guy was out there. He agreed to let me call at 3:30.
The other guys gave a price of like $500 mine was $700
I told him John my price is $700 still but tell him that i can do it for $450
he told the guy that.
His response was they would do it for $425
John my price is still $700 tell him we will do it for $400
They responded with a offer of $375
John my price will always be $700 tell him we will do it for $350
They reponded with a offer of $325

My reponse John my price has stayed the same the whole time. How does it feel to be lied to by that guy 3 times in a total of a min?

Needless to say I Secured his home!

I go above and beyond when I design a system because I save lives for a living and I take my career seriously.
If I make a mistake or let people try to shortchange their systems They are putting their Familys and thier prperty in Danger.
