Another Noob question.

I have purchased a couple of sticks that are in tubes and I am finding that they take up an inordinate amount of space in the humi and they don't fit comfortably in my travel humidor.

That said, I have a couple of questions:

Should I remove the sticks from the tube (glass and/or aluminum) or is it safe to leave them in there.

If it is safe, then for how long?

Buy a bigger humi, hahaha

If they are non flavored smokes just remove them from the tubes and mix them in with your stash. I can't say how long they would be good in the tubes because different types of tubes vary(glass, metal, plastic) but from what I understand the tubes don't always provide a stable enviorment like a humidor would.

Like Craig (can i get some volume on my headphones?) Mac said, segregate the flavored ones and mix the rest right in. KEEP THOSE TUBES THOUGH - they make nice travel carriers for when your taking a couple with you (aluminum though, glass breaks easily) and they work well as a leave home companion for your wife if your ever away!!!

Couple of things:
1) You probably paid more for those tubes? So I would NOT want to waste what the tubes provide as far as flavor profile. The xtra cedar is really good if you like that sorta thing.
2) They won't survive by leaving them outside of your humi for more that 3-4weeks before you have some real issues.
3) Time for you to purchase a small igloo and get some beads this way you can keep all of your gars there and there is minimal investment.

Good Luck!

Tubes will stay fine if left alone in your humidor. Removing them from the tubes will cause no ill effect if the cigars are left in your humidor. Choose which ever works for your situation.

I take mine out of the tubes and just put them in the humi.........But the tubes come in handy when I'm out and about I just use the tubes to get from point A to B safely.

I keep mine in the tubes but I take the top off and pull the cigar out about an inch. Sometimes I just take it out altogether. I just keep the tubes so if I take the cigar somewhere I can through it back in the tube when I leave. Then again I have a cigar case so I rarely ever use the tube again.
