Guys

Quick question:

New lock & lock tupperdor that I washed 2 times and left baking soda in it for a couple days. Didn't notice any real plastic smell so I dumped in my sticks and opened once and a while to check on them.

Smoked a espinosa habano that has been in there for like 7 days and I got kind of a slight bitter taste which I'm pretty sure wasn't there on my first smoke after they were delivered.

Plastic smell being infused? Humidity problem?

My first GUESS would be over humidified. Once I dropped my rh to 65%< I haven't had bitter cigars like I used to

Also grab some fragrant cedar pieces from your local B&M & chuck them in too, use 65 or 67 % bovedas, open every 2 weeks to get some fresh air in. These ones you can find at target for about 8.75 and rock, http://www.amazon.com/Rubbermaid-7J76-Rectangle-Storage-Container/dp/B000WEKLJE/ref=sr_1_21?ie=UTF8&qid=1378882062&sr=8-21&keywords=rubbermaid , they hold anywhere between 50-75 sticks. I've even had what I would call success using the really cheap reusable ones, which aren't nearly as airtight but heck they hold humidity pretty well too, bovedas lasing 3-5 months.

I agree with the above... most likely an RH issue...

snap lock containers have really tight seals.. and are also very succecptable to temp changes...

Throw a 65 boveda in there.. and put the snap lock container in a cool, dark place (closet is a good choice).. and things should balance out within a short while...
