That's terrible, and worse yet is that this kind of thing happens all the time.
My Cousin lives in Endicott, NY where IBM spilled a couple of hundred thousand gallons of Trichloroethylene into the ground water. It's classified as 'relatively anticipated to be a carcinogen' to keep it off the list.
Cancer cases rose sharply & the local economy suffered greatly as housing prices were 20% of what the surrounding areas had. It was only after years of battling them that they installed a filtration system in peoples houses. Beyond that they never really were accountable or even so much as appologized to the public.
It seems like rediculous things are regulated for the small guy, while the 'big-boys' avoid legal frays & demand more de-regulation... It's a big mess, justice is not being served.
