Hello everyone, my name is Alex and I'm an international student from the south-east coast of Mexico in the process of finishing a degree in biochemistry (last semester!) in the beautiful state of TX!
I am 22 years old and thanks to my father, a seasoned aficionado, I have been into the hobby of cigars for a long long time; I remember my very first puff when I was 7-8 years old. I had spent the past hour asking my dad if I could have some of his cigar, he finally turned back at me and as OKAY! go ahead. He handed a Cuban cohiba robusto (this was back in Mexico) to me that was burned close to the ring, I held it in awe with my tiny fingers and finally took the first hit. A giant cloud of hot smoke came deep down my throat and out my nose and I started choking and coughing non stop for the next 30 minutes. Boy it took me a few years to ask for another puff... In my teens I continued to help organize the humidor and began doing some research on my own with an occasional smoke every year or two. It wasn't until high school when I was able to smoke half a stick without getting dizzy as hell. In college, when I came to America about 4 years ago, I had put my hobby on hold due to time and economic constrains but now that I'm a few months from graduating I decided to get back on this art. As a matter of fact my new humidor just arrived to my door step a few hours ago! :skew:
I hope I didn't put you to sleep! I'm happy to be finally part of the brotherhood and I'm looking forward to reading you all!
