Another For Profit School Preying on Vets about to go down in flames.

I have seen first hand how this and other institutions have bankrupted workers trying to get ahead in this degree required society. This is particularly damning to vets. In light of so many of them having earned their Masters in combat and that alone far exceeds the accomplishments of those who have not served.

A lot of people (not just vets) fall victim to the scam that is online universities like University of Phoenix and Kaplan University. They prey on people who are either on the GI Bill or receiving federal student loans. While some of these schools are accredited, the truth is employers don't treat online degrees the same as degrees from well known universities. Online universities have been known during the admissions process to tell prospective students that a degree from University of Phoenix means just as much as a degree from Harvard as they have similar accreditation. Employers don't respect a degree from Harvard, because it's an accreditated school...it's because of the prestige and history of the school. Online schools have also been known to promise prospective students they will definitely get a full time job upon completion of their degree, or even going as far as saying they could get a job that pays $100k with a degree from Kaplan or Univ. of Phoenix. Those schools are a scam as they're overpriced, and not respected by the business world. Go to an in-state public college as it's a lot cheaper, and the degree is worth more than an online degree.
