The cancer is in his bones too, they said the treatments he is already getting to treat the lung cancer should put the bone cancer in check. He is 83, he is in good spirits, tomorrow he goes in for his next treatment.

I want tot take the opportunity to say thanks for having this place around. Though I have been real busy and not on much lately, it's good to have a place to vent or whatever.

I need to plan trip back to CA. to see him so all my energies will be focused on making that happen. I am going to have to sell some smokes and possibly more, my plan is to go back for one of the two Holidays, Thanksgiving or Xmas.

I hope that one day, someone will tell me that I remind them of how my father is/was that will be the proudest day of my life.

Sorry to hear about your Dad - I just came back from OH after 2 weeks with my dad - he's 84 and health is failing - probably going to be in a wheelchair from now on -

I wasn't sure how the time together wold go because of his health but we had a great time together - lots of laughs even as we got him on and off the commode - so I encourage you to go and make it a time of fun memories for you both -

I pray that the cancer does not progress and recedes - his body is strong - an his spirits remain strong - and for you as well -

We will be praying for both these dads and families as well. Being with them as much as you can is the best medicine. Let us know how we might be able to help and keep us posted.

Except for when he has his chemo treatment and a few days after, my dad sounds better, able to do a little more tan he could in the past. But we don't know how effective the chemo is... it wonm't remove the cancer from the bones the best thy can do is halt it's progress. The chemo is mainly to treat the cancer in his lungs.

He has had COPD which was caused by the chemicals he was around when working in the industries. He never dealt with them first hand, so how many people who dealt with it first hand have died or are dying? He worked for Folsom Prison for 17 1/2 years. Yes he was responsible for making sure inmates worked and so on, from the chemicals they used to spray he developed COPD. Always where a mask or some kind of protection. What they may say is not harmful now may be declared illegal (DDT) later, don't take chances.
