Gettin' ready to order some more USPS shipping supplies. I noticed that they have a couple of options that I'd never noticed before.

One is the new Shoe Box and the other is a larger VHS box. Does anyone know if using either of these costs more? Neither is larger than 1 cubic foot or 84" (length + girth which I'm assuming is L+W+H).

Not sure about the weight, but the last time I ordered boxes, I made the mistake of ordering "boxes of boxes" meaning that instead of ordering 25 boxes of three different sizes, I got 25 boxes, of boxes...of each size. So I had 75 boxes of Priority boxes to pick up at the PO, they had a good laugh and sent a bunch back, but I saved about 8 boxes of each, so I have plenty!

 Damn! I have them delivered to the house, so the wife would S**T if she came home to 75 "boxes of boxes". She thinks I'm nuts already!

They usually come to my home as well, but they left a handwritten note asking me to come to the PO. I know the ladies there really well, and they just wanted to see my face when I saw the stack of boxes. You think the PO online area would catch this and send a confirmation e-mail or something. Good to know if I ever need a boat load of boxes!

The shoe boxes seem too big for cigars. I always like the use the larger VHS boxes and pack bubble wrap or newspaper around the cigars.

I have the shoe boxes. As stated, they are to big for cigars. I used them once and I believe it costed more but I think it was due to the weight of waht I was shipping.

Yeah, I got a sampler form someone in the shoebox and it was funny to get the huge box with 6 cigars in it, but there was plenty of protection. As long as it's under apound the same $4.60 applies.
