I take the opposite approach.
I use duct tape to secure the items I want to keep, open all the doors and move throught the house with my leaf blower.
Voila! Vacuuming AND dusting done in one shot.

We have the Dyson Animal also. They are great! You can get a new Dyson on e-bay for close to $300. You don't need to get the Animal, it's about $100 higher than the base unit but the only difference is the extra attachments that come with it. The upright unit is the same only the color is different. Good luck and happy sucking!

We have a Dyson Animal and it is without a doubt the best vaccum we have ever owned...although, it is a little over the $275 mark.
Todd. My wifey wanted one of those over-priced dirt grabbers and I had to put my foot down. I went out, bought a Hoover and with the remainder of what it costs for a Dyson, I bought a box of PSD4:drool:

Yes I am king of my domain........until she cuts me off from that thing I love.

The Dyson may seem overpriced at first but I'll tell you that after a year of use it's still as good as the day we got it. I can't say that about the 5 or 6 vacs the wife's been through in 23 years. All the others quickly went down hill after a few months before we got fed up with it and went in search of the next great vacuum for the house. It took Dyson to finally engineer a nice vacuum for under $500.

I hope this is my last post about vacuum's on this forum. Unless we're talking shop vacs, that's another story!

I bet you could suck a golf ball through a garden hose!

Thanks for the info guys. This is for my parents, well my mom. Our other vacum we had for years but it's just done. It still sucks, but lots of the attachements are breaking.

Dyson seems to be the investment to make. What is the cheapest base model?
