Bought tickets last week for the family to go to see my wife's grandmother and the rest of her father's family for Thanksgiving. She has rapidly declined in health over the past few months and we've made the decision to see her and let the kids see her again before it's too late. It will be a good trip.

It's been about 10 years since we've visited Vancouver and a couple years since we have seen her grandmother, but I am dreading the travel during the week of Thanksgiving? :hammersma :hammersma

Sorry about the grandmother-in-law's health. It's good that you all get to go visit the family.

I live about 30 miles north of Vancouver.

Any place to smoke in the area? We're flying in on Sunday and out on Saturday- I've got to find a place to go have a cigar or 12 sometime during the week.

Hmmm... you used to be able to smoke at Rich's cigar shop in Portland.

Last year they passed a law in Washington that bans smoking in all public places (and within 25 feet of public places) and places of employment. Period. That goes for bars, tobacco shops, etc.

I think tobacco shops and bars are still exempt in Oregon, but not positive.

I emailed Rich's and asked. If he doesn't respond by tomorrow morning I'll call and ask, and let you know. Maybe we could meet up.

Thanks James. Sounds like when I visited Maine last year. Only place to smoke was in my hotel room.
