Aliright,
I've never been to Vegas.
My brother wants to go, I would like to go, so it looks like we may make a little "roadtrip" out of it.... Actually will probably fly.

Anyone have any words of wisdom regarding Vegas for newbies? Big city stuff, is not my forte.

Things we have to see?
Places we have to go?

Best places to smoke a cigar?

thanks
Buck

The shops at Ceasars Palace is where Casa Fuente is located. Really expensive, but they have all the Rare and HTF Fuentes. Great Mojitos and hot waitresses. And when I say hot, they are on a whole new scale.

If you really want to see some girls The Spearmint Rhino is a must.

There is also a Huge BASSPRO shop there. It's kind of impressive in itself.

eat at IN-N-OUT Burger. order Double Doubles

Go see the guy from Barjay Cigars and smack him for all of us he promised a smoke to review and never sent.:disappoin just kidding.

When you are gambling drinks are free. Order two on the first round and tip well when she brings them. Right as she brings the first 2 order another, it will be 45 minutes until she coms back with it. I order Beer , cause you can't water down a Corona.
Also Just because it's 2:30 in the morning does not mean you can't find something to do or that you have to go to bed.

+1
be aware there is NOTHING cheap on the strip. i hear room rates are dropping now because of the economy, but somehow i SERIOUSLY doubt that casa fuente will lower their prices on anything. certainly is a must see and do for the cigar/mojito/female lover however!

Ahhh casa fuente. Just bring plenty of money. Never go to Vegas strapped for cash. Otherwise you cant really enjoy yourself. I hear Andres is an incredible restaurant with great cognac, scotch and wine selection if you are into that. Gonna try it out when I head up there Jan 23. Cheers!

Andres is good, but it's sister restaurant Alize on top of the Palms is unbelievable and the view is great.

Are you into night clubs, strip clubs, great restaurants, seeing sights, etc....

Need a little more info on what you guys are looking for, and the price range before I can suggest places. Do you like to do the tourist crap or go where the locals go?

There is something to do and see for every budget.

Something that is very cheap is to go see Hover Dam. It is less than 20 miles from Las Vegas.

Far to much to see and do for a first visit....so it kind of helps to know what you enjoy?

My musts:
The Conservatory at the Bellagio as well as the fountain show
Ceasars Forum Shops and Casa Fuente
High end dinner - Prime at Bellagio
Medium priced dinner - Canalettos at the Venetian or Dos Caminos at the Palazzo
Poker or gamble at TI
See the Wynn, Palazzo, and Venetian (impressive hotels)

If you dont want to sit and wait for your free drink:
Place like a 2 Dollar bet at the sports bar thing.
They give you a free drink coupon and you can keep it for when you really want to use it. Maybe build up 4 or 5

Put 20 bucks in the video poker machine at paris and poke around on the buttons. That is usually where I start. They will give free drinks as long as you are "playing". That way you get a nice buzz on for little to no money.

No idea where we're stayin yet. How far is the Grand Canyon from Vegas? I'm thinking that a good smoke lookin out over the Canyon would be pretty cool...

I used to live there like 10 years ago. I could give advice, but Vegas changes so much that it's all probably outdated.

I still like downtown. It's the poor-mans Vegas and you can do it all in a single night. The strip is like Disneyland - YOu can spend all night walking and hardly get to do the things you really wanted to do.

Definitely see:
The Conservatory at the Bellagio as well as the fountain show
Ceasars Forum Shops and Casa Fuente

Shows (you can find discount coupons everywhere):
Mac King Comedy Magic Show @ Harrah's (funniest show I've seen in years)
Folies Bergere @ Tropicana (original style Vegas show)
Cirque du Solei (several different ones - expensive but excellent)

Travel:
The Hoover Dam is less than an hour drive. Very cool place to visit + tour.

Vegas is anything from mild to WILD. Depending on your interests and your budget, you can do ANYTHING in Vegas. Wigwam and I were there at the end of November.

Let us know about your interest and budget, and I am sure we can point you in the right direction.

Hoover dam is less than 20 miles from Vegas

Expcet 30 to 45 min to get there due to part of the raod being one lane, and they are building the bridge over the Dam

Stay: The Orleans - off the strip but close enough. Low cost and two queen beds. Cleean comfortable and nice casino
Smoke: Caesars Sports Book -Nice tables and easy chairs. Bet the ponies for a buck and ask for your free drink toke. If you win great if not it is fun anyway. They love cigar smokers.
Shows: Discount Ticket outlet at the Big Coke Bottle - half price or better on shows. Easy stuff.

buffet at Paris is awesome

ceasars is cool

Believe it or not the best piece of beef you will find is at the steak house in circus circus.

rent a car and go to the Dam or RedRock.

Go online now and book a couple shows ahead of time

you can gamble, chase pt or just walk around and be as easily entertianed, it takes a few trips to take it all in, vegas is cool.
