Very Disturbed at My Finding

I am very disturbed at a finding I just made, and am wondering if others had this same problem.
I had ordered from JR Cigars an order on November 1st (Thursday) and paid extra for 3 Day UPS Shipping. This order went out on November 2nd (Friday).
I looked up its tracking number just now and noticed that this package is scheduled to arrive on Friday, November 9th. This is 7 (sic. my bad, actually it's five) business days AFTER it was shipped.
Question: Why am I paying 3 Day Shipping for a 7 (sic - 5) Day delivery service?
This greatly concerns me. I am anxious to hear if this is consistent.

It saves you a day or two. Standard shipping from the east coast to me (Washington state) is about 9 days.
I think it's better to buy from vendors closer to your location.

I truly wish I could. Being in Idaho, all our cigar shops are poorly maintained (cigar-wise) and you have to battle past all the incense and hookahs just to get to the walk-in humidor.

I meant vendors from like...this side of the Mississippi. Small batch is in California, Cigar King and Fox Cigar are in Arizona, etc.

Hmmmm....
I know UPS does deliver in Idaho; I've lived here 20 years and use UPS more than USPS {USPS has a horrible problem delivering my packages to Taylor Street, which is 2 blocks away from my house on Tyler Street}. Many times UPS will drop my packages off at Pioneer Station (USPS) and have them deliver the package. When this happens, my mailbox sign IMMEDIATELY goes out, putting the mailman errrr..... sorry, I mean mail-person (I'm pc-challenged) on notice.

I order from JR all the time. I get a lot of packages from them delivered when the tracking shows that label is created but not yet in the system. Hold tight, and if it comes late, give them a call. They've always done me right.

Yes, I agree.
I was waxing eloquently in my email to JR Cigars and only caught it AFTER I sent off my email (sigh). I added my error in case we have any JR Cigar employee in here, so I can claim the honesty-flag. :D

When Googling on this matter I found this:

Even though there are only 34 reviews here (12 in the last six months), this graph shows me there is a definite problem.

I just figured out tonight where the snafu happened.
While I paid for 3-Day Shipping on that order, UPS has it marked as Standard Ground.
Very disappointing.

3 day would be ground. Time is not guaranteed till you go up to even more expensive shipping options. Never pay for three day, it's likely to get there in that amount of time anyway from people who get on the ball about getting their stuff shipped out. Jr is not necessarily that type of place as you're seeing.. I've never been able to score a great deal from them anyway, so they're near the bottom of my order from list.
