Well, it came out today and hit store shelves. Only 1200 bottles bottled in 22oz. bottles. I ended up getting lucky and was able to get a case, 6 bottles of it.

It's a sour ale brewed with Door County cherries aged in bourbon barrels. It was fermented for 18 months and it's bottle conditioned.

I can't wait to get home and try one then age the rest.

If it's Wisconsin made, you know it has to be good

Central Waters has a cult following in WI. Every year they have an anniversary party and they allow this beer enthusiasts group, Beer Advocate, have a small room where there is a collection of rare, hard to find beers to share. The price of admission into this room is that you have to bring two above average beers to share.

A couple years ago, a co-worker went to the Beer Advocate room and someone had brought a bottle of Sam Adam's Utopia to share. Utopia is 25% alcohol, very, very limited.

I hope it hits the shelves here in Southewest Chicagoland, that sounds fantastic. Loved the bourbon barrel stout I had from them a couple of years ago. Wishing they will ship it along with some bb barleywine too.

I believe, from Central Water's Facebook page that there will be some of this beer distributed out of state so I am thinking if there is a store that carries their beer you might be able to find some. Binnie's might be a good place to check or even give them a call.

It's priced at about $11.99 per bottle.

I had some goose island rare bourbon county stout last winter.

I wanted to get some of that as well as the vanilla bourbon county. They are both retired now. Goose Island is releasing a Coffee bourbon county this year that I want to get my hands on!

I had a bottle of Exodus Saturday night. I did enjoy it but I think it will age very well. It almost acted like a champagne. There was a head when I poured it into the glass but it dissipated very quickly and left no lacing on the glass. The tartness from the Door county cherries came through and the finish was dry, like a champagne. It wasn't bubbly like a champagne but I am wondering if it might possibly get produce more bubbles with age since it is bottle conditioned. Time will tell.

I put my remaining bottles in box, sealed it up and put the date I purchased it on the box. I am going try another bottle next year at this time.
