Have any of you tried this cigar lately?I wonder how a few months of downtime has affected it?
So much like many others where some will love and some will hate it. I have found much out of that factory ages really well. But for me that is the 3 years plus range. Love me some 07 illusione's. Much of the reason I bought as much Viaje as I have is in hopes that it will age as well.Had one a week and a bit ago. Was great! I put it up there as one of my favourite Viajes. Nice rich flavour, with lots of depth. The kind of tastes you would expect from a nice dark cigar. My only beef was the wrapper came apart a bit at the end. Can't say why, but didn't affect my opinion too much.
That being said, I'm pretty sure thatjohnguy had one recently and didn't care for it at all.
What kind of flavor profiles did you get from it?I had one fresh and I smoked another about a week ago, Big difference with just a few months rest. I think it arrived wet because I had burn problems with the first one and it could not stay lit. The second one was tasty with a smoke-heavy draw and a few different nuances that I didn't get with the first one. I'll wait a year to smoke the next and see how they progress. I also punched both ends on the second instead of clipping, and it worked very well.
