Well I just had my first Viaje cigar and I really enjoyed it. Great draw, great burn, excellent flavor. My local shop doesn't carry them so I was wondering if anyone has any good online sources for these?

I'm not sure which one I had. It looked like a Natural wrapper, Robusto size, band was off white with black and silver text and decals.

Also interested in other good cigars they make.

Viaje is known for producing quite a few LE (limited edition) cigars, which are produced in single run, limited quantity batches. Some are amazing, and others not....All subjective, of course.
The problem I see (imvho) is that Viaje tends to spend a lot of time and energy on their LE's, and not enough attention on their core lines. In fact, I have heard that they are cutting back on the core line.
This leaves a high number of LE's that are sometimes unattainable to the average smoker due to pricing and availability.

I like them, but in my very humble opinion, I'd take a Tat over a Viaje any day of the week.

I have heard quite the contrary Clint. From what I have gathered, Viaje spends the same amount of time ensuring quality with their core as with their small batch. You may not like the core as much, but its the same quality. I happen to be a big fan of both Oro and Platino. Platino Lancero is one of the finest on the market. I think the small batch overshadows how good they really are. I have heard nothing about cutting back on the core lines. I know through my B&M, Viaje has decided to release different sizes throughout the year so you wont see the entire line at once. Cheers

I don't care for LE cigars really. When I find smokes I enjoy, I like to keep them in stock. LE last a year or so and can be very hard to find and very pricey.

I think it would be a good idea to do a LE cigar in small batches to test out new blends and see what the consumer response is. If its good make it a regular production cigar.

Tat's core waaaayyyyyy out does viaje's. I only buy viaje's limited edition smokes, bc I don't care a whole lot for their core lines. Pete has put enough quality core products to keep one occupied without ever having to try out his limited runs.

Lately, I've been on more of a Viaje run than most of my other sticks. I've been preferring the light creamy body with the slightly floral aroma to the in your face tatuaje peppery-ness. Not that I won't go back to em but the last few Tatuaje's I've had haven't been to my liking (Regios Reserva, Face then Boris). I did have a Lespirit de Verite which was good but actually left about half of the Regios in the ash tray.

Contrary to some reviews, I actually like the WLP though yes they are young, I think these are going to be excellent but not the high powered pepper bombs, more in the subtle flavors dept. G1
