Directly on the heels of the popular Reserva line comes the Skull and Bones. This cigar features a sun grown criollo wrapper and a Nicaraguan binder and filler. They come 25 to a box and sell for $9.00 a stick. The Viaje Skull and Bones is due at May 3rd!!

Al Duffrin from Viaje cigars explains that these cigar were Viaje’s answer for a more full bodied cigar from their fans. It comes in a 4 x 54 violta called the Daisey Cutter. Only a 150 boxes were produced.

Thanks for the post Larry!.........although I really don't know what my stance lies on this cigar just yet. I KNOW that I would love to get some of these, but i've gotta admit I wish they came in a different size.

Short and fat is not my preference in a cigar, but being touted as a 'Daisy Cutter' does admittedly give it some appeal......a la the Flying Pig, Firecracker etc.

From the sounds of things in the review this might be made into a regular production cigar. I really hope that's the case, so I can get em' in a size more to my liking (Toro, Robusto, Torp, Corona Larga etc.).

Based on my having smoked a couple of the Reservas I am hoping the Tower gets them in and I am certain I will be splitting a box.

With their current track record, Viaje that is, I have a feeling that few on this board will be disappointed with it....just my opinion.
I thought the hit a home run with the exclusivo jar release....The reserva was nothing special though IMHO....

The jar was stunning, I really loved the Holiday Blend myself....I can't totally speak on the Reserva as I have only tried the Platino and regrettably admit it was good but didn't blow me away!

Wasn't the Reserva just the same "aged" blend used in the regular Platino and Oro lines??

Judging from some of the opinions I've read here recently......there might not be anything wrong with something that's more "fresh".....

And it's about $4-5/stick cheaper....which doesn't suck ;).

Larry, what "track record" is that?

With the exception of the Oro, which was just an OK stick for me, I've loved the other Viaje stuff I've gotten. The Exclusivo Jar and Chiquito were both great sticks and the Platino and 50/50 are also great. I've never seen anything but love for the Holiday blend.

So what have they done that was bad? Surely they didn't release cigars in a box that smelled like paint! LOL Oops, wrong company.

Seriously though, what is your basis for that? I might have missed something.
That's what I meant, not bad but good....I have yet to smoke anything by them that I didn't like and would most definately buy again!! A "good" track record!

Where do I find these beauties? Is a store list available somewhere? :)
Daniel,

There are usually just 5 retailers for these Viaje special releases. This list does not ensure that the retailer will, in fact, sell the Daisy Cutter, and I only have a partial list.

Perhaps others can add in what I'm missing here:

New Havana Cigars
Tower Cigars
Empire Cigars

Hope this helps, bro!
