Sunday I rode down to a vintage British bike show near Hartford, CT. There were hundreds of bikes there both in the show and in the parking areas. Unfortunately, I only took a few pics because my wife decided to load a tiny memory card in the digital camera.
This is a 1952 Vincent Black Shadow, probably the most desirable collectible bike in the world. It was the fastest bike of its time by far. It had features that were unique at the time, but are standard today like an engine as stressed frame member and single shock and swingarm rear suspension. An earlier hopped-up version, the Black Lightning, was famously used to set the land speed record in 1948. This bike could easily sell for more than $60,000.
