I am considering one of these units to store my cigars in. I asked one of the dealers which type of compressor the unit had because I was planning on using it as a humidor. His reply was:
"The units are Compressor. Hope this helps in your decision. The units will maintain a high level of humidity. Ranges between 65-75%"
Can anyone confirm this? I'd hate to buy this unit and find out it won't work.

compressor units suck out moisture... you want Thermoelectric... (no compressor)

They are a nice looking unit, but compressor driven cooling systems are not a good option for Cigars.

Thermoelectric is the magic word when looking for refridgerated cigar storage. They do not go through the intense moisture fluctuations a compressor unit will go through, and they are whisper quiet.

I think you'll find that large of a capacity wine fridge will almost always be compressor cooled due to the size. Good luck on the hunt!
