had a mighty sore throat and fever... not good. needless to say, i was without cigars the whole time. had the first post-illness cigar the other night (Camacho SLR Maduro), and it was phenomenal! like, more phenomenal than i remember!

i got to thinking... maybe my appreciation for cigars is enhanced by waiting longer between them. i was smoking 1 a day for a while, but i think i may try spacing 'em out a little more. maybe... two a week or so.

i know there are some smokers out there who just don't have the time to smoke one or more a day, but is anyone else out there in the "give the palette a break for a few days" school? anyone choose to take a few days between smokes for flavor reasons?

I find myself waiting, largely due to work demands and my smokes are at my B&M.

I may smoke less but enjoy what I smoke and look forward and savor the experience, time, and ritual. Do I see myself ending the day with a cigar on a regular basis? "F" yeah! But where my palate and budget meet for me is just right.

Hadn't smoked since saturday and had a T52 last night. I REALLY enjoyed and savored every puff and was blown away.

If I've had 2 or 3 a day for three days or so I usually stop and give myself a break. All depends on your mood and what you feel like doing.

There are days when you don't feel like it or your throat's a little weird. I don't usually smoke on those days.

Yes sir Mr Meister! I smoke once or twice a week only on the weekends. I work some crazy hours and I don't like to squeeze in time to smoke, I like to relax and enjoy and savor and um....wow had a moment lol, so yes I too agree that it gives your palate a break and gives you something to look forward to instead of making it routine.

right on. that's what i'm getting at.

so many of the years i've spent smoking fine cigars were spent this way, but i've recently started to "make it routine," just to gain some more life experience and see how i liked it. so now, i've gone through a phase of waiting months between smokes and a phase of waiting mere hours. i think i'm liking the present phase best... smoke one every few days and really enjoy the time and savor the flavor.

i hate being sick, but bad things always lead to good things. :)
