Washington DC smoking

I'm going to be in DC this weekend. Any suggestions for where to have good steak and someplace to go for a smoke with a friend. What are the laws there anyway?

Only a couple of places to actually go in and smoke in DC. You're lucky if you're in on the weekend though as patrons at Drapers are allowed to smoke in the shop on Saturdays ( no smoking M-F due to complaints by other building tenants), in addition, they are THE shop to go to in DC! Even though its been a long time since I've been able to get down there as I don't work downtown anymore. Great selection, great guys. You can also go to Shellys which is right around the corner from Drapers ( I think Drapers closes fairly early on Saturdays). If you go, have the bacon cheeseburger!. Besides those 2 places, if the weather is nice, you can smoke out at any of the patios at the area hotels, I recommend the Sofitel on 15th and I, great drinks at Le Bar. Besides that, you can always smoke while you're walking but if you want to go to a location and hang, I'd say thats about it. G1

Definitely go to Shelly's Backroom. It's an institution in DC.
