Apologies for a mundane thread about the weather but...

I do the majority of smoking on our decks, both screened/outdoor and its just too hot to enjoy myself. Even at night it's not been letting up. I've lived on Hilton Head Island since 1999 and, yeah, it's hot but this year is something different all togther. Plus when it's crazy humid the cigar tends to burn for crap.

Last Saturday my son and I walked to the driving range/putting green about 1/5 mile from my house @6pm. At the range is a ranger station which has a clock and outdoor thermometer. I would have snapped a picture had I not left the phone at home, the clock read 6:06pm and the thermometer (which was in the shade) read 104.

Think I might need to carve out some time to visit a B&M this coming weekend for a much needed cigar.

I know the feeling well. We've had a couple of days where it is 112 this year. And the local thermometer they use to report that is based at the airport under a shade tree. It regularly stays over 100 late into the night. Brutal man, just brutal.

Been hot here. Its still in the 80s and 10 oclock right now. I have a ice cold beer, RP Tenth Anny for my boy FunkeJJ burning and Screaming Jay Hawkins playing "I put a spell on you" !!!!!!!!! Yeah I'm sweating....... Some times the pain is worth the pleasure.
Cheers,

Fitze, I hear you brother. I'm living just West of Ft. Bragg and enjoying a cigar on the deck this time of year is a killer. Feels like the humidity is particularly high and really puts a damper, no pun intended, on enjoying that nice smoke in the evening.

This is gonna sound crazy but it works. For the cheep escape of heat buy a kiddie pool, fill it with cold water, and set a fan blowing your way. Just sit next to the pool with your feet dipped in...It really works! I've done this many times in my garage when I was building my man-cave and we still do this when we sit outside on the hot weekends.

Not the most economical, but this year I've been taking my girlfriend to the casino so I can follow her around and smoke a cigar in the A/C. I work at a cigar shop, so I smoke while working, but I really do miss the outdoors this year

After the summer we had last year, we are relishing the "normal" temps of this year! I can take the heat of the day if the nights cool down a little, like they're doing this year. Last year the heat carried on well into the night and the evenings couldn't be enjoyed.

like 96 degree today in NKY with the same as relative humidity, and you feel all of it! thankfully, my garage is UNDER my house (think a ranch built on a hill?), and it stays cooler being underground. it's nice, darg the chair out into the sun, it's not, post up in the back of the cave and stay cool.

The weather has put a halt to my cigar enjoyment. I like to smoke on the porch and when it's still 85-90 degrees at 10pm, I just move to a different indoor activity.

I love chilling on the porch and watching the Reds on the iPad with a good stogie and I can't even bring myself to do that now.

People who enjoy weather in the 90's are mentally ill. :)

So true, I love to head out to the deck with the laptop and watch something on netflix or do a instant view from amazon maybe even read a book. Late night on the deck with a cigar is my special time, hence my frustration.

We have a cluster of trees in our back yard that casts a shadow in the evening, and it helps the evening breeze cool the back of our house down, alot, actually. It's a great place for a cigar.
