So I just got engaged. We picked a date already which is Oct. 11th of next year. I will hopefully get to squeeze in a smoke that day. What was yours if you got to smoke one? Did you have anything special done, maybe some custom bands and boxes or even went a little further and had cigars custom blended?

I smoked a Behike 52 during the week of mine. Go all out man and enjoy it!

First off, congrats. I got married last year in October. It's a great month to get married IMHO because it's not too hot and not too cold yet, at least here in Cali.

I do not even remember what cigar I smoked on my wedding day. However, I do remember that it wasn't anything spectacular because I knew I would mainly be smoking it while I was taking pictures with my groomsman and I knew that I wouldn't really have time to sit down and really enjoy it too much.

One piece of advise for you to keep in mind on your wedding day:

The day goes by in the blink of an eye so be sure to really sit back and enjoy the day. Take everything in, take time to really enjoy the celebration because it will be over before you know it. My wedding was the best day of my life so far, and I really wish I could re-live it one more time.

Also, I know weddings can get very expensive very quickly but one thing you don't want to go cheap on is the photographer. After the day is over all your going to have left is memories and the pictures. Get two photographers if you can, the extra person will get a lot of candid shots while the main photographer is shooting all the main shots. Congrats Brother!

what I would do if i could do it all over again. I would buy a box or 2 of my favorite cigars and smoke one every anniversary. personally I would go Padron 1964. Just a thought.

Yeah I didn't smoke on my wedding day either, I was busy in the morning getting stuff to the venue and ready then at the wedding I was just enjoying my time. Talked to lots of people danced and ate. heck I didn't even drink very much either.

Congrats on the engagement!

I wanted to pick up a box of T52's but it was just not in the budget, that and I'd probably shit a brick if I saw someone stamp one out after a few puffs. I ended up getting a really good deal on some Undercrowns. I know I'll have a few guests that will smoke but I'm hoping to have plenty of leftovers to smoke on anniversaries.

id also buy a box on great cigars with the same box code to smoke on your anniversary.

Well, before my wedding a few close friends and I met at Corona Cigar Co. off of Sand Lake. Had a Liga T52 and an Opus X Taurus the Bull. We had to do something while she was getting ready, so we tied a few on and had a mini-bachelor party right before hand since I didn't have an official one before the wedding. Good times. Ha.

If I could do it again with some time to order something a little more special instead of buying off the shelves, I'd probably go with a Behike 52 or any regional release or EL from ISOM... Just because.... I will say that I've not noticed a crazy different reaction with my wife and my cigar spending so that wouldn't be my primary motivation, but now with a kid I notice I have less time and smoke less in general so I'd pull the trigger and go big... I guess she feels like she's said it all before at this point... HA!
