Received probably 2 inches of snow today. Snow is not uncommon but the below occurences always crack me up. After growing up for 20 years in PA and missing school very little due to weather, this is always entertaining.

My school system is the bolded one.

Another thing that is really fun here is go to the grocery store when they are calling for a 3-6" snowfall. I'm like, where the hell did the bread and milk go!? :dunno:

We got ice down in SW VA... yeah I have to admit, the VA's really panic when a storm is forecast...

If there is even a dusting ALL school's close until two days AFTER it has disappeared...

I lived in MO when they had and ice storm... the roads had like 6" of ice built up on them... did they close the school's hell no, they just didn't run the busses made the kids walk to school...

 and toilet paper!

I've lived here my whole life but spent a lot of time in Pa where they have "real" snow.

It's funny as shit to see people creeping along the road at 10mph when the roads have been treated and water is kicking up from the back tires.

BTW - They do the same thing when it rains hard.

We've had school closings on the possibility of snow. It in fact didn't snow but thank goodness they were prepared. They can mention "Frozen Precip" for a neighbor state and there will still be a run on Milk (even if Lactose intollerant) bread and TP.

not up here...it takes VERY specific conditions to get us a snow day.

this is the first year in recent memory we have yet to have a snow day at this time of the year. ll the kids (and some faculty) are starting to get antsy. There's talk of a 'mercy' snow day sometime next week!
