My local B&M hosted a Rocky Patel event today promoting the Super Ligero. I was afraid it would be a little full for my taste but the Rep recommended the Decade, the Burn lounge edition, and the Olde World Reserve then gave me a Freedom. I smoked the Decade and the Burn. I gotta say Im a fan. These were my first Rocky's besides an Edge lite and they were both great. The rep was really great and even gave me 2 private cellars for my company's EMS week raffle. Looking forward to the other 2 and may have to man up and try super ligero soon.

My one and done experience with RP was their truly, astoundingly bad Connecticut line. Rolled so loose as to be amateurish.

I found the Connecticuts to be exquisitely bad, but the Decades are definitely worth a try. I liked the regular Edges also, but I haven't had one in awhile.

The real shame about RP is that they put out so many blends that it's hard to keep them all straight, and a lot of their products are crap because of it. If they focused on their upper tier stuff, they'd be much better off, instead of making shit like Cargo and other lines like that.
Well said. It's like so many other products out there, make too many lines and consumers forget/don't know which ones they should be buying.

Seems you're still upset about that stick. It must have been bad :sick::vomit::vomit:
We've all had a smoke like that. Move on to the next one and forget that one! :cigar:(y):cigar:(y)

I only mentioned it again because of this thread. Tonight, I enjoyed a vintage Don Lino from long ago. Lovely. Lit it with my new to me vintage Dupont Ligne 1. Ahhhhhh. ;)

I bet I've seen Rocky a dozen times and everytime it seems he's just punching the clock....he used to be full of enthusiasm but over the years it's just about fulfilling obligations of the 'meet and greet'.....that's ok as I smoke a buttload of the Edge Maduros....most everything else I skip.

I believe it. Everyone gets sick of his job eventually, no matter how cool it seems at first.

Although I am not a fan of RPs lines and will not smoke any of his stuff, I hope you had a great time at the event. Yes, I tried many over the years. To me, same old yard gars. There are as many cigars out in the market because there is a cigar for everyone. What might fit my palate may not fit yours. Just because I don't like RPs, doesn't mean you can't love them.

I'm with you on the Decade. It's not bad at all- some of the flavors actually reminded me of the standard Padron line. Check out field supply for cheap 5'ers

I really like the rp edge... but the rest have been hit and miss ... and super ligero last time I saw a stick bragging about that it was a panama red lol when I first started smoking rp was my go to brand. I think it would be a fun event to go to and try out some of their sticks I haven't had before

I have yet to smoke one, but I have heard very good things about his new Prohibition brand.
