So I was just making a comment in another thread, and it occurred to me that lately I've been getting a chalky sort of flavor in many of my cheap maduros that makes me pitch the stick. In fact, several of the sticks I once enjoyed, I no longer due because of this particular quality.
So far, it's been very prevalent in every one of the following sticks:
-Torano 50th
-RP Edge maduro
-5 Vegas AAA
-and overwhelmingly in the 5 Vegas Gold Maduro.
I hadn't smoked any of these in over a year, and when I got gifted one or pulled one from my stash, I couldn't keep smoking it.
All of these sticks I liked ok when I was new to maduros, but now I can't stand them because of whatever that chalky essence is. Is it dye? Is it a particular leaf? Anyone know what I'm talking about here?
