What is everyone out there buying? Do you stick to the brands you know and only buy the stuff you know you like? Or do you tend to travel outside the box and always try new things?

I have a handful of sticks I know I like but still see myself trying new sticks. Seems like I could have boxes upon boxes of what I know will deliver each time I smoke it. Seems like I'm spending my money on things I'm not sure of and taking a chance.

If I had my druthers I'd just buy mountains of Padron 26's, Opus X and PSD4's and smoke happily ever after - but I think we're all drawn by that 'what if' factor of finding another crack-stick that we just can't get enough of.

Ive got a decent stash of the stuff I like sitting around in the humi, so when I have been buying, ive just been buying new stuff to try. Never know where that next diamond in the rough may be.

:dunno:

I bought a bunch of my favorites, and then pick up a handful of other things to try out, or to break up the rotation.

Between singles, 5ers, and bombs from generous brothers... I get to try lots of new stuff. But keep plenty of the favorites so I get the best of both worlds.

I learned when I joined botl that id pigeon holed myself by sticking to the bigger cc names and their nc counter parts. An unrightful snob everything else was trash. (Shopping at the larger net retailers doesn't help dispel this myth) enter this whole new world of great sticks...now when I see botl talking enough about a stick or brand ill buy at least 2 or a 5er and try it. It's been workin pretty well so far and resulted in a DE humi and a Coolidor for aging.

I've switched gears lately and have been smoking a pipe over cigars, so my current cigar inventory (which isn't much at all) will stay status quo. I plan to be making more tobacco purchases over the next couple months.

Seems like I was buying stuff to just say I have it, Now it's aged and sitting in my humidor and I forgot I have it. Debating if I should start trading and stock up on the stuff I know I like.

Find a B&M that you trust and buy their recommendations. You'll find there are always exciting new things to try. Doesn't mean you have to abandon the old faves!

Currently picking up aging stock of favorites and fivers of revisits/never hads. I rarely buy boxes blind.

Couple bundles of JOs in different sizes to lay down unopened for 5 years. That's been about it for most of this year except 3 boxes of Half coronas early in the spring.

I'm going to put a list together tonight of what I want to get rid of and post it up in the trader section.
I was just thinking about that this morning. I've made my top 10 (of which 7 are very similar but somehow very different too) and I want to stock a box of each and move a lot of what I have now.

In the last 2 weeks:
Trini Reyes to smoke now
Partagas C to lay down
Juan Lopez #1 to lay down
Juan Lopez PC to lay down
Trini Fundies dont know when I'll smoke them
I tend to go deep on stuff i really like. Everything i bought to lay down I already have 2-3 boxes of the same. Makes aging a whole lot easier
